League Information
Welcome to the Fort Worth Flex League! Our summer season will start June 12th. We will provide you with a suggested weekly "play-by" schedule, but you and your opponent will be the ones to decide when & where y'all will play.
You may play out of order, you may use a sub, and you can even play 2 or more matches in a week. None of the matches go against your NTRP rating.
Cost is $20 for our singles league & $15 per person for doubles.
To ensure no miscommunication during the signup process for doubles, please read the following:
- After clicking the red "Signup" button, you will proceed to the "Find your Doubles Partner" step.
- If you have a partner you would like to play with, either create a new account for them, or search for them in the database if they have used this website for a prior program. This will ensure that you are paired with that player when registration closes.
- Even if you have a partner, the only option is to pay for yourself only (will be noted in red). Your partner will also have to find and select you when registering themselves, and pay their own fee as well.
- If you do not yet have a partner, please do not fill in anything and proceed to the green "Continue" button. You can complete payment information as an individual doubles player, similar to above (minus your fixed partner).
- We will find you a partner and pair you with them once registration nears the closing date.
- Click on the green "Continue" button and complete payment information. Success!
FWTA Flex League Rules (revised 06/12/17)
- If you are joining, please commit to playing the entire season.
- If you must withdraw due to injury or other reason, please notify the Flex League coordinator and your opponents.
- If you withdraw before playing any matches, the round-robin schedule will be readjusted – minus your withdrawal.
- If you withdraw after playing a match, please find a permanent substitute to take your place for the remainder of the season. If one cannot be found, any of the other round-robin players in your division is allowed to find somebody to take your place – no cost to them.
- Suggested match dates are just that, suggested!
- Matches can be played at any time, in any order, as long as they are completed by the season deadline.
- Who should initiate contact? Everybody should be!
- Both home and away players are encouraged to do so – it is probably best to contact all opponents at the start of the season to start communication.
- Please acknowledge and respond to calls and emails, even if you’re unavailable to play.
- If there is a lack of response after three total tries by the initiating party (by email and phone), please report to the coordinator and take a default win (6-0, 6-0).
- If a player responds after being defaulted, it is up to the player giving the default to reinstate the match – if you agree to reinstate, let the coordinator know so he/she can reset the score.
- If there are more than two instances where a player is defaulted, then the coordinator may replace the offending player with a substitute (offending player will not be able to return for the following season), and republish the match schedule to maximize matches for all parties involved.
- Home and Away player responsibilities:
- Home player provides new balls, and reserves the court for their matches with the expectation that the Away player will travel to them. HOWEVER,
- Date, time, and location of the match must be agreed upon by ALL players.
- Home player is responsible in checking and ensuring that the court is playable the time of the match.
- If the court is not, the Away player may take a default win, or ask to reschedule at a site of their choosing.
- If the match is to take place at a facility that charges guest fees, the fee is each individual’s responsibility.
- Standard match format:
- Best two out of three sets, with a 10-point (win by two) match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
- If you and your opponent(s) agree beforehand, you may play out the third set.
- Any rulings not addressed here will be deliberated on a case-by-case basis, and at the discretion of the Flex League coordinator:
